Born to learn is a fun, thought-provoking series of animations that illustrate ground-breaking new discoveries about how humans learn.
Born to Learn is the result of work and input from a number of individuals and organisations.
www.born-to-learn.org was designed and built by Chesapeake Studio Ltd.
Special thanks are due to David Peake, Chairman from 1993 to 2010; to the late Sir Bryan Corby, Chairman from 1987 to 1993; to Christopher Wysock-Wright and Sir Brian Thwaites, joint Chairmen from 1983 to 1987; and to the longest serving trustee, Tom Griffin, from 1986 to the present time. To Janet Lawley for her unstinting support as an Initiative Fellow since 1996, and to the redoubtable Terry Ryan who joined up with the earlier Education 2000 in a dacha somewhere within the forests outside Warsaw in 1995 and became the Initiative’s chief researcher, secretary and political negotiator between then and 2002.
To the present trustees Richard Hornbrook, Tom Griffin, John Price, John Senior, Neil Richards, Pete Mountstephens, Johanne Grosvold and Caroline Wijetunge. Special thanks also to Heather MacTaggart as co-author of Overschooled but Undereducated and all those others within the Canadian Council for Learning involved in disseminating these ideas across Canada since 2004. In recent months special thanks to Dale Stafford, Lorenzo McLellan, Anna Mac Andrew, Chesapeake Studio Ltd. and Jim Robinson, and many of the students at Atlantic College as well as those from Salt Spring Island in British Columbia under the inspirational leadership of their Superintendent, Jeff Hopkins.
To all those from around the world, from Australia and Japan and Korea, from S.E.Asia and Indonesia, from across Africa, Europe, the Near East and across the entire British Isles, as well as from both North and South America .. some 1000 people for whom we still have email addresses – our grateful thanks…may the website lead to a growing number of “Responsible Subversives”.
